Television Advertising - a first for ALF Print E-mail

Would this knock the wind out of you?For the first time, The Australian Lung Foundation will test the effectiveness of television advertising in raising awareness of COPD. The campaign, entitled: “Is COPD Knocking the Wind out of You?”, will appear from August 20th to September 28th in Toowoomba, Queensland.

The objective of the campaign, which will feature tv, print and radio advertising, is to encourage those with symptoms of COPD to see their GP to discuss lung health and to have a lung function test (spirometry test).

The messages of the campaign are:

  • It isn’t normal to be out of breath

  • If you are over 45 with a history of smoking and are experiencing breathlessness, you could have COPD

  • There are things you can do to help you breathe easier and live longer

  • See your doctor about a simple lung function test

  • Call 1 800 818 545 for further information

The campaign will be seen in Toowoomba, Queensland, including the outlying areas of Boodua, Clifton, Crows Nest, Dalby, Goombungee, Goondiwindi, Oakey, Millmeran, Pittsworth, Stanthorpe, Texas, Warwick and Withcott.
