LungNet

A national network of patient support groups for people with COPD and other lung conditions.  They are supported with information via this website, a quarterly high quality health education newsletter, telephone information and support toll free hotline (1800 654 301), annual education seminars, and supply of condition and procedure specific information brochures.  The database currently contains over 10,000 patients and health professionals.

The ALF Multi-centre Trials Network

Utilising a network of investigators, these committed researchers have completed studies of both national and international standards.  Under the ethics approval of the TSANZ Inc. Research Ethics Committee, we welcome submission of both new studies for consideration, as well as experienced investigators looking for access to trials.  For more information, please e-mail us at  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Consultative Groups

These multi-disciplinary committees have been established for COPD, Respiratory Infectious Diseases and Lung Cancer.  A committed group of individuals meet 3 times per year to further develop initiatives in the area of research and education relevant to each condition.

Case Statements

The Australian Lung Foundation has developed a series of case statements aimed at placing the key respiratory disease issues in the limelight and stimulating discussion at the highest decision making levels in Australia. The case statements have been produced through the ALF by the leading experts, and therefore provide a key resource for policy makers.

Corporate 7's Rugby

On a lighter note, the Corporate 7’s Rugby is a popular annual fundraising event staged in Brisbane and (in past years) Sydney, allowing everyone a moment of glory on the rugby field and projecting the profile of the ALF and lung health in the broader corporate sector.
